Committee forwards $398,800 preliminary engineering study for 79th Street corridor

Becky (presenter, speaker 7) briefed the committee on a preliminary engineering study for the full length of 79th Street within Overland Park city limits, intended to evaluate feasibility and produce scalable segments and cost estimates to guide CIP development. The study supports goals from the 79th Street corridor plan completed under a planning sustainable places (PSP) grant.
"The study is anticipated to be complete by fall of 2027," Becky said. Staff recommended awarding the contract to Fitness Corp for an amount not to exceed $398,800; the committee accepted the recommendation and moved it to the city council for approval.
