DPW and Highway staff briefed trustees on multiple operational items. Yoakum Street Park is completed with berm work to finish in spring 2025; crews continue routine Main Street maintenance, park trash pickup, pothole repairs and sweeper deployment when temperatures allow. Five maple trees will be planted at 5 Corners Park in spring 2025 and one maple will be removed.
The board discussed an Altice/LIRR plan for North Main Street that would tunnel under the tracks to accommodate Altice; the minutes record that Altice is to submit plans to the LIRR. Staff also noted a National Grid $9,200 grant is in process. Crews refurbished a pot-belly stove to be installed in the Farmingdale Train Station, and standard winter work such as salting and equipment maintenance continues.
