The Corning Union High School District Board voted unanimously Jan. 16 to award a fencing contract for Corning Union High School and Centennial High School, approving a 7-foot option with a maximum contract amount of $875,731.10.
Project manager Zane Shrader presented the bid details and additive alternate options. He described a base bid and optional alternates that included a taller fence and variations near the soccer field; the board discussed decorative front fencing and noted the base bid would not alter tennis courts. The board approved the award with direction that the superintendent may accept or decline additive alternates as needed.
Board members recorded their votes per the meeting record. The motion to award the contract carried with trustees Tony Turri, Jim Bingham, Cody Lamb and Larry Glover voting aye; Trustee Reid Lamson was absent. The board also discussed holding a walk-through and possibly a special meeting before confirming additive items.
The decision follows presentation of project maps and pricing breakdowns during the facilities portion of the agenda. The contract award will proceed through the district procurement process and the superintendent will manage any approved alternates.
