The Building Department reported a cluster of active permitting and land-use matters at the March 3 work session.
A permit has been issued for a new 7-Eleven and Sunoco site and is awaiting pickup; staff told the board they have spoken to the attorney and are awaiting a start date while demolition mark-outs proceed. Verizon resubmitted plans to install communications equipment on the clock tower at Palmer’s Shopping Center; the hearing on that application was rescheduled to April 7. Bodega on Conklin Street had signage reviewed with a remedy proposed.
The Pour Authority at 335 Main Street submitted an application for a 114-seat venue and needs a Special Use Permit. Minutes state a denial letter was issued for Special Use, but an interior build-out permit was granted. The transcript also notes a seafood restaurant, Captain Ihab, is proposed to move into 193 Main Street but no special-use filing has been made to date, and that Barnyard requires a Special Use Permit. Several other storefront changes (Vintage tenant takeover, a new barber pole request) were flagged for follow-up or Planning Board review.
