Trustees voted unanimously Aug. 8 to approve a contract with Nichols, Melburg & Rossetto (NMR) for a Facilities Master Plan to guide district decisions on campus modernization and capital projects.
The agreement is a fixed fee of $45,000 with a $2,500 reimbursable allowance for expenses related to the master planning work. The contract directs the firm to produce schematic studies, site analyses, systems assessments and a prioritized plan to inform future projects, including cost estimates and a timeline. The board's motion was made by Todd Henderson and seconded by Jim Bingham.
In approving the contract, trustees noted the planning work will be used to coordinate ongoing projects such as the planned shop modernization and the recent parking/softball bid. The master plan is intended to help the district align capital priorities, estimate multi-year funding needs and support future grant and bond applications.
