Council approves salary-grade changes and audit contract amendments; directs clerk to investigate annexation petition
Summary
Following a salary study, council adopted FY26–27 salary-grade changes including a 2.8% COLA and approved amendments to the FY2024 audit contract plus authorization for the FY2025 audit; council also directed the town clerk to investigate a voluntary annexation petition under G.S. 160A-31 for parcel 1656091.
Council adopted updated salary grades and a 2.8% cost-of-living adjustment after Town Manager Olivia Stewman said recent analysis identified pay-scale gaps. The changes were included in the adopted FY2026–27 budget.
The council also approved an amendment to the FY2024 audit contract to cover additional time and coordination, and authorized execution of the FY2025 audit contract under revised terms. Separately, the council passed Resolution No. 26-06-09A directing the town clerk to investigate a voluntary annexation petition for parcel 1656091 under G.S. 160A-31 to ensure it meets statutory requirements before the town proceeds.
