Clerk Treasurer flags $6,800 claims error, plans state of the finance report for July 8

Clerk Treasurer Stonecipher told the council on June 16 that her office discovered a roughly $6,800 error on the current claims register, had the clerks reprint the claims and is investigating the matter with staff and Ms. Jackson.
"I found about a 6 to $800, mistake, on the current claims register," Stonecipher said, and added that the good news was catching the error before payment. She also said the office has begun purging unnecessary paper records after consulting the county and state, is evaluating accounting software demos this summer and will provide an annual state of the finance report at the July 8 council meeting.
