Clerk-Treasurer Stonecipher told the council that the Department of Local Government Finance’s latest calculations indicate the town can expect a net increase in property-tax revenue of just over 2.7% for the calendar year. Stonecipher described the increase as modest and noted ongoing pressures from circuit-breaker clawbacks that reduce levy dollars, urging the council to begin budget planning for July.
Stonecipher also introduced the town’s new deputy clerk, Sydney Colon, noting her background as a University of Southern Indiana graduate and asking council members to welcome her to the staff.
