Mayor David Porterfield briefed the council on a COMPASS call for project applications covering transportation projects for 2027–2033. He said the deadline for the first call is Nov. 19, 2025, with a second call in December that will include more detailed cost projections. Notus's existing Collector Street Rebuild project is in planning and design, pending contract signings.
Councilmembers also discussed a possible project to improve school crossing safety at Notus Road and Purple Sage and noted that COMPASS found a grant opportunity to revise the city's transportation plan and project priorities. Staff were asked to consider application timing and project readiness ahead of the Nov. 19 deadline.
