Town Planner John Guszkowski presented a detailed walkthrough of the revisions made since the public hearing closed, including new action items addressing Mono Pond protections, added library‑funding and school regionalization language, economic development recommendations for parcel‑by‑parcel commercial analysis, a watershed map, and a number of editorial adjustments. Guszkowski also agreed to verify and insert the most current PA490 farmland map provided by the Tax Assessor and to correct identified data errors in employer listings and school enrollment tables before final publication.
Why it matters: the POCD sets Columbia's land‑use and conservation priorities and will guide zoning and capital decisions. The commission's approval formalizes the document and directs staff to make specified technical corrections and clarifications before final distribution.
The commission set no further votes on the POCD at the meeting; Chair J. Riendeau said corrections identified at the session will be applied to the adopted document. Board Clerk Mary Kay Hyman recorded the minutes; the meeting adjourned at 7:29 PM.
