Town Manager reports progress on Old Farms Road, sidewalks and AVFD plans; AHS track study proposed

Staff reported the North/South section of Old Farms Road is largely complete, plans to extend sidewalks using contingency funding are underway, AVFD fire station design options will be presented, and a $36,000 capital amount was proposed for AHS track engineering work.
At the July 31 meeting the Town Manager and Assistant Town Manager provided construction and project updates: the North/South portion of the Old Farms Road project is nearly complete; the East/West section will return to council for design discussion in September. Staff said they will attempt to extend sidewalks another 450 feet using available contingency funds and the ezIQC program with Four Seasons as contractor.
Council was told there is no immediate safety issue with the Avon High School track but that a larger resurfacing is likely in 2029; staff recommended using $36,000 in capital funds now for engineering or consultant work to identify durable repair options. The Town Manager also said the AVFD fire station design process will come to council with options for consideration.
