The Town of Columbia reconvened its annual budget meeting on June 23 to review a revised 2026–27 budget after two previous referendums rejected the proposal. First Selectman Steven M. Everett and town officials answered questions from more than 80 residents and outlined next steps ahead of a new Budget Referendum scheduled for Tuesday, June 30, 2026, in Yeomans Hall from 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Moderator Millie Ramsey emphasized that the session was for discussion only and that there would be no vote that evening. She also explained logistical details for the upcoming referendum, saying, “Absentee ballots for the Budget Referendum would be available starting June 24, 2026, from the Town Clerk’s office either in person or by designee.” The meeting adjourned at 7:50 p.m. and was formally moved to the June 30 referendum by Paul Zator and seconded by Heather Connors; the motion passed.
