Sylvania authorizes solicitation for website redesign to improve usability and services

Council authorized the administration to solicit letters of interest for a website redesign to modernize the city's online presence, improve mobile access and streamline online forms and payments.
Service Director Joe Shaw told council the city's website, last updated in 2015, is difficult to use and not mobile-friendly; the administration recommended soliciting letters of interest from web consultants to build a modern, accessible site capable of online payments and streamlined forms. Shaw estimated the project could take eight to 12 months once a vendor is selected.
Council voted to authorize the LOI process. Council members emphasized usability, security for online payments and ease of access for residents as key goals for the redesign.
