Council authorizes letters of interest for city facilities master plan study

Service Director Joe Shaw described a two-pronged facilities master planning study to assess the condition and long-term placement of city-owned buildings including City Hall, the maintenance garage, municipal court and parks/forestry building; he also proposed evaluating one township site. Shaw said the study would produce qualitative and quantitative "report card" assessments (HVAC, roofs, etc.) and look at space utilization and possible consolidations. He estimated an 8–12 month timeline for the work.
Council authorized the administration to solicit letters of interest to select a consultant for the study and directed periodic progress updates. Shaw said the study would help the city plan where it should locate operations for the next several decades.
