Council authorizes advertising for bids on $5.28 million downtown transportation Phase 2

Shaw described progress on Phase 1 and the plan to maintain one northbound lane while routing southbound traffic during construction, and said work would begin in July with a goal of finishing by the following Memorial Day. Councilmember Richardson moved and the council approved a motion authorizing the administration to advertise for bids for Phase 2.
The presentation included schedule considerations and a likely short overlap with an interchange project in July–August; staff expects to return with bid results and a construction contract recommendation following the advertisement and bid period.
