Council approves $129,200 design contract for Alexis–Stewart waterline project

Staff said an easement acquisition previously completed clears one piece of the project and the design contract will allow the city to advertise for construction next year.
Shaw told council, "Their proposal in the amount of a $129,200 completes the scope of work, which . . . takes care of a little bit of water line on Stewart Road and a good chunk of water line replacement on Alexis Road." Council introduced Ordinance No. 62-2026 to accept the proposal and appropriate funds; the ordinance passed as an emergency measure.
The design contract was described as part of the city’s capital improvement program for 2026 and will precede construction procurement in 2027.
