Residents press council on pool slide and related public comments during forum

City Manager Michael Johnson said the pool is targeted to open June 8 but staff discovered an additional slide on site purchased in September 2023 that probably will not pass code inspection. "The instructions say you need to have 3 feet of water that you drop off into," Johnson said; staff described the slide as costing about $5,500 in 2023 and noted it may not be usable. Council agreed to prioritize getting the pool opening resolved.
Other public forum speakers raised quality-of-life items such as barking dogs, First Amendment concerns, and questions about the mall process. Council moved to adjourn after public forum.
