Council adopts 2026–2029 city street hot-mix resurfacing plan; ordinance effective May 28

During the ordinances and resolutions portion of the meeting, Council gave third and final reading to Ordinance No. 2026-29, which adopts the City of Steubenville’s 2026–2029 City Street Hot-Mix Resurfacing 4-year plan.
Mayor Ralph Petrella announced the final reading and opened the floor for public comment; none was offered and Ms. Hoover called the question. Roll call was recorded as all ayes, and the mayor declared the ordinance duly adopted. Staff said the ordinance will go into effect on May 28, 2026.
Council also heard committee reports that will feed into future resurfacing bidding (Service committee sun-shined advertising for the 2027 Hot-Mix Resurfacing project and discussed Ohio Public Works Commission applications). Council did not amend the four-year plan at the April 28 meeting.
