"In 2025, we circulated 28,772 items," the director said, adding the library recorded just over 7,500 visitors and 223 interlibrary loans. The director reported 101 new library cards issued (for 246 new patrons listed in some categories) and a total of 4,068 patrons in the library system, which serves residents from Dell Rapids and neighboring towns.
Electronic circulation also rose: the director reported about 3,400 e‑books checked out and roughly 5,500 audiobooks. The director calculated that, using average retail-equivalent costs, e‑materials saved the library community an estimated $436,590 versus buying equivalent print and audio items; the director said the library pays about $1,500 to participate in the shared digital service that makes much of that content available.
