Avon City Council unanimously adopted Ordinance No. 9‑26 on Feb. 23, 2026, updating Chapters 210, 1040 and 1042 of the city's codified ordinances to revise the water and sewer codes and adjust certain rates and fees. Council President Brian Fischer presided over the reading and the motion to suspend the rules and act was made by Councilman Scott Radcliffe and seconded by Councilmember Mary Berges.
Council then voted to adopt the ordinance; the adoption vote was recorded 7–0 in favor. The ordinance title includes an emergency clause, and the adoption took place during the meeting's second of three readings after the Clerk read the ordinance by title. No amendments to the rate schedule were read into the record during the meeting.
The ordinance will appear in the codified ordinances and take effect as specified in the measure's emergency language. The record of the meeting shows the suspension of rules and the adoption motions and the unanimous votes; the municipal clerk will publish the ordinance text and effective date in the usual city channels.
