Kingsford applied for Iron Mountain cart grant to expand recycling; application pending

Under old business, DPW Superintendent Jeff DeMuri told the committee that Kingsford applied for a recycling cart grant through Iron Mountain to purchase recycling carts after nearby Norway chose not to apply. "Kingsford applied for a cart grant with Iron Mountain to purchase the carts for recycling as Norway chose not to apply," DeMuri said; he added the application has been submitted and the city has not yet received an update.
Committee members noted the update and took no further action during the meeting while awaiting notification about the grant. The item remains on future agendas until the city receives word on grant status.
