The land advisory committee recommended that Pine County contribute up to $25,000 to the dedicated parks and recreation fund to support development of a 23-acre Willow River (Big Bend) park parcel that was floodplain land following river flooding. The board moved and approved the contribution during the committee reports portion of the meeting.
The committee also recommended withdrawing previously offered land parcels from over-the-counter sale, reappraising them in July, and placing them on a fall sale; the board approved related resolutions (listed as resolutions 2025-13 and 2025-14) to effect that change. County staff noted the parks fund is drawn largely from tax-forfeited land sales and cautioned that proceeds are expected to decline under new sale requirements, though timber proceeds and smaller contributions will continue.
