Council approves nearly $96,568 in municipal building furniture, carpet and painting

Shaw stressed the building’s original dedication in 1990 and aging furniture and finishes that prompted planned replacements.
Council introduced and adopted Ordinances 70-2026, 71-2026 and 72-2026 as emergency measures to accept the proposals and appropriate funds. Members joked about duct tape holding some drawers together while agreeing the long-deferred replacements were warranted and had been budgeted through the standard budget process.
