Fenton DDA Approves Grants for Local Events, Awards $3,000 to "Ladies Night Out"

The Fenton DDA approved funding to support local events during its March 18 meeting. Stacey Mielcarek, owner of Yesterday's Treasures, said "last year this event was a great success, they came in under budget" while describing this year's "Deer Hunters Widow" theme for "Ladies Night Out." The board approved a merchant grant not to exceed $3,000.
Tyler Carpenter, executive director of Southern Lakes Park & Recreation, requested grants for five events: the Farmers Market, Summer Concert Series, Family Nights, ArtWalk, and the Car Cruise "Rev-up Fenton." Carpenter said the Concert Series will expand to more days and run May through September to align with the Farmers Market. The board approved the recommendations as presented.
