The Fenton Downtown Development Authority approved its FY26-27 budget at the March 18 meeting, with the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2026. Director Michael Hart told the board that rising wage costs for DPW work downtown contributed to budget pressures and that the proposal includes $500,000 for Master Plan implementation to cover design for an outbuilding for the Fire Department and DPW and a sketch for an additional parking site where a previous chiropractic building had been demolished.
The motion to approve the FY26-27 budget was moved by John Strayer and supported by Craig Schmidt; the board adopted the budget by roll-call vote with no nays recorded among members present.
