Council considered an ordinance authorizing a contract with Mojo Solutions to purchase 21 radio units for the police department. A police lieutenant said the department's current radios are at end-of-life and no longer supported by vendors, explaining that the new set of 21 units will include one spare to ensure continuity if a unit fails.
As the lieutenant put it during the presentation, "these 21 radios will bring us in compliance." Council thanked the lieutenant and the staff who negotiated the price, and the ordinance was moved forward and adopted by roll-call vote recorded in the meeting minutes.
The lieutenant estimated delivery would take "a couple of months." Council recorded unanimous 'Aye' votes on suspension of rules, the inclusion of the emergency clause, and on adoption, and the meeting minutes show the ordinance as adopted.
