Council to consider $19,483 engineering contract for City Hall HVAC and office improvements

Councilman Dan Rettig said an ordinance to authorize an engineering agreement with Regency Construction Services, Inc. for City Hall HVAC and office space improvements will be on the Regular Meeting agenda. Director of Public Service and Properties Mary Kay Costello told the committee the contract covers engineering work to define next steps for heating and cooling improvements and to address areas where office walls do not extend to the ceiling; Regency will identify how to adjust ducting and controls to provide consistent temperature and privacy on the second floor.
Rettig said the engineering contract amount is $19,483.42 and that the project is included in the 2026 City Budget. Mayor Koomar added that previous rooftop unit replacements and an energy audit showed the north side of City Hall does not receive consistent heating and cooling; the engineering work will define solutions and next steps for reconstruction where needed.
