Council approves consent agenda, pulls items for review and lists community events

At the start of the meeting Mayor Ben (speaker 1) and Mayor Pro Tem Hector Trevino reviewed announcements and the consent agenda. Hector Trevino listed upcoming community events — a PetSmart adoption event (Feb. 21), a shelter adoption event (Feb. 28), a paper-shredding event at Rosenberg City Hall on March 7 and the city's Wine & Beer Walk on March 21.
On the consent agenda, councilors pulled Item G and Item I for discussion. Councilor Jessica Jaramillo moved to approve the minutes absent items G and I; the motion was seconded and approved on the record. Item G (the microchip/tag change) and Item I (the polling-place signage resolution) were handled later in the meeting; no members of the public registered to speak during the public-comment call for speakers that evening.
