Clerk Treasurer Stonecipher provided two budget items at the June 3 meeting: Clark County 9‑1‑1 has submitted a bill reflecting a 6.6% increase for next year; and the Department of Local Government Finance reported that local property assessments rose 8% in the prior year, producing an estimated 2.7% increase in property‑tax revenue (about $500,000) for the town's revenue mix.
Stonecipher cautioned that some of the gain could be reduced next year by provisions of the enrolled Senate Act 1 that may trigger clawbacks. He described the overall picture as a "mixed bag" of financial news and reiterated that the timing and exact amounts may change when state adjustments are applied.
Council members thanked him for the update and moved on to council comments and announcements.
