At the start of the public-comment period, resident Mike Conway told council he had documented nearly five days of delay in posting audio and slides for a recent pool update presentation and urged the city to adopt automated transcript software and livestreaming.
Conway said the slide deck and audio were not posted until late Friday after a Monday meeting and argued the delay could run afoul of Ohio’s Sunshine Law and ADA access expectations for homebound residents. "Aren't you concerned? Possible violations to the Ohio sunshine over meetings law and ADA statutes," he asked. Council representatives responded that staff would review the contracts, get more information and report back in a couple of weeks. "I'll look into all of the what you've addressed tonight," the council president said, and the law director said he would review contract provisions and meet with the manager to determine whether delay causes are attributable to a contracting party. Conway pressed for clearer, timelier posting and livestreaming; council asked staff to follow up with a public timeline and to provide the requested materials to the resident.
