Representative Jasper and colleagues said arbitration would be confidential, faster, and less costly for families who choose it, and noted safeguards — including arbitrator qualifications, domestic-violence pauses, and court confirmation requirements — to protect vulnerable parties. Supporters argued the bill mirrors statutes enacted in other states and would reduce pressure on district courts. The House adopted the measure by unanimous recorded vote (93-0).
