The short-term rental appeal (Appeal #26-005) drew one public commenter opposed to the proposal and no appellant representative; the board cited local zoning code requiring owner occupancy of a dwelling at least 51% of the year and found no demonstrated hardship, voting to deny the appeal.
The Burger King signage request (Appeal #26-006) sought four signs beyond the two normally permitted under Sec. 1134.06(c). The applicant representative said the company wants signs set during a July–August construction window tied to national rebranding; the board approved the variance and the applicant may pursue sign permits.
Both motions passed unanimously with members Brent Barnes, Mike Aeling, Jesus Mireles Quezada and Herbert Watson voting in favor; member Billy Ray was absent. The meeting was adjourned at 4:56 p.m. and minutes were submitted by Engineering Clerk Holland Hite.
