After 15 years, ownership transfer clears way for 5 Ridge Road title; council also OKs emergency truck repairs and surplus sales process

Administrator McNeilly told the council that ownership of 5 Ridge Road finally transferred and that the new owner has begun cleanup and remediation work, removing an abandoned car and cutting overgrown trees. "The ownership of 5 Ridge Road has finally transferred," McNeilly said, and staff reported the property looks better and Code Enforcement is working closely with the owner.
Borough Attorney Ursula Leo said the county had two orders on the property, including a demolition order, but because the property has been improved she asked the council to vacate those orders to clear title and allow transfer; the council approved Resolution 097-26 vacating the orders.
Separately, the council approved emergency repairs to a Ford F-550 Mason dump truck used by the Department of Public Works at a cost of $37,960 to be paid from the Snow Removal Trust Reserve, based on a proposal from Hoover Truck Centers under ESCNJ cooperative pricing. Administrator McNeilly and Superintendent Jason Titsworth are preparing surplus-equipment inventory and photos to list on Municibid, with a resolution authorizing sale planned for the June 23 meeting.
