Stanhope adopts ordinances to buy sewer equipment and invest $158,335 in public-safety and infrastructure items

Ordinance 2026-08 appropriates $7,000 from the Sewer Capital Improvement Fund for acquisition and installation of new and additional equipment for the sewer utility, including a sewer injector pump. The ordinance passed by roll call after Mayor Wronko opened and closed the public hearing with no comments. The motion to adopt was made by Councilman Smith and seconded by Councilman Thornton; all council members voted yes.
Ordinance 2026-09 authorizes $158,335 in improvements and equipment: a vehicle and speed-monitor signs for the Police Department, air bottles, turnout gear and radios for the Fire Department, and street lights and Main Street lighting work for the Department of Public Works. The funding is to come $101,100 from the Capital Improvement Fund and $57,235 from Capital Fund Balance. The ordinance was adopted unanimously on roll call (motion by Councilman Romano, seconded by Councilman Simpson).
