Council amends and advances right-of-way and street-vacation ordinances to third reading

The environment, planning and zoning committee considered two land-use ordinances. For ordinance 26-12 staff removed an incorrect legal description attachment and replaced the word "easement" with "public right of way" in the language; the committee approved amending the exhibit and advanced the ordinance to third reading and final passage.
On ordinance 26-13 (vacating sections of West 228th and 229th Street), members approved an amendment to change the phrasing from "South of Interstate 480" to "from Interstate 480 to Maple Drive," confirmed the updated attachment, and moved it to third reading and final passage. The mayor explained ODOT retains development-recapture provisions should the city later develop parcels transferred from ODOT.
