Council heard the reading of Ordinance No. 2026‑47 authorizing the City Manager to act as the local official for the John Scott Connector Rehabilitation Project (City Project No. 2020‑122). The ordinance authorizes engineering, right‑of‑way acquisition, utility relocation, bidding and contract execution; Ms. Hoover called the question and council approved the ordinance on unanimous roll call. Mayor Petrella declared the ordinance adopted and said it will take effect upon her signature.
The ordinance authorizes the city to engage in standard project functions including advertising for bids, executing a construction contract with the lowest most qualified bidder, and performing construction administration and inspection. The council record shows the adoption occurred June 2 and that implementation responsibility rests with the City Manager and the engineering department.
