Council approved Ordinance No. 2026-33 on third reading to rezone eleven parcels on McCook Boulevard owned by Casey & Lon Jacqueline Staton from I-1 commercial/industrial to R-3 high-density residential. Councilmember Mayo called the question and the measure passed unanimously; Mayor Petrella declared the ordinance duly adopted and set the effective date for July 9, 2026.
The action was taken during the ordinances-and-resolutions portion of the agenda; no public speakers objecting to the rezoning are recorded in the minutes. The change will alter the zoning classification and applicable land-use rules for the affected parcels when it becomes effective.
