Consultant: SCIIP drainage work on Sullivan's Island should finish by September

Doug Jennings of engineering firm Seamon Whitesides updated Sullivan's Island Town Council on the SCIIP drainage project and related street work, saying the project "should be completed by the end of September 2026" and that crews expect to have the pipes installed by July. He showed photos of site work, described planned repaving of several streets and said crews will smooth the bump on Jasper Boulevard.
Jennings acknowledged the project had encountered issues and delays but said the team believed they were past most of them. Council members asked technical questions about the schedule and work scope; the consultant responded that pipe installation and stabilization were the immediate priorities and that staff would continue to provide updates.
Council noted the town had been mentioned in the Municipal Association magazine regarding stormwater management, and members thanked the consultant for the update.
