Select board approves parade permit, liquor-license extension and police mutual-aid agreement

The Rumford select board approved several community permits and an interagency agreement during its Sept. 5 meeting.
The board granted a parade permit for Mountain Valley High School's event on Sept. 27, approving the route from MVHS south on Hancock Street, left on Oxford Avenue, left on Waldo Street across Lincoln Avenue and terminating at Hosmer Field. The board also approved a one-day extension of Rumford Falls Eagles 1248's liquor license to its fenced parking lot for Member Appreciation Day on Sept. 14.
In public-safety business the board approved a mutual aid agreement between the Rumford Police Department and the Oxford County Sheriff's Office to formalize cooperative policing assistance. All three items were approved by recorded motions (votes recorded 5-0).
