"On this site, we have a 193 total trees," King said. He explained staff applies 3:1 and 5:1 credits for retained trees of different sizes, which produced a net increase in credited caliper inches after the proposed plantings; staff recommended the commission may approve, approve with conditions, or deny the permit. The commission moved, discussed the proposal briefly and approved the tree removal/preservation plan 7–0. Commissioners noted the developer is proposing more replacement trees than are proposed for removal.
