Board approves multiple hires, including new elementary assistant principal

On May 11 the board approved several administrative and teaching hires recommended administratively, including Naomi Sponable as elementary assistant principal and multiple special education and grade-level teacher hires. Each hire was approved unanimously.
The Boyne City Board approved a slate of administrative and teaching hires at its May 11 meeting. The board approved Naomi Sponable as elementary assistant principal; the motion to hire Sponable was made by Mary Towne and seconded by Zareena Koch, and passed 5–0. Other approved hires included Karah Preston (elementary special education), Katie Pingatore (middle school special education), Trevor Day (middle school special education), Kennedy Danforth (middle school 7th grade) and Kelly Neer as Early Learners director.
Each hiring motion was presented as recommended administratively and carried unanimous board approval. The personnel items were recorded under the action items portion of the agenda; the minutes show no abstentions or dissent on the hiring recommendations.
