Blake said Compost Now will report participation metrics back to the city and that there is the potential for community reuse of compost, but final arrangements on how the compost is distributed/useable by the city were not yet finalized. Staff also said customers could cancel on a 30‑day notice and that the city plans an education campaign before launch.
Council members encouraged staff to gather data on likely sign‑up rates and to develop performance metrics for evaluation before a broader rollout.
