Boyne City athletics honored with 2026 MIAAA Exemplary Athletic Program Award

The Boyne City Board of Education on May 11 recognized the district after it received the 2026 MIAAA Exemplary Athletic Program Award from the Michigan Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association. Cody Inglis, MHSAA assistant executive director, presented the award and said "it was the people that set our program apart from the others." Board President Zareena Koch accepted the presentation on behalf of the district.
Athletic staff member Matt Windle gave a PowerPoint showing growth in participation across Boyne City athletic programs over the past two years. Board members applauded the recognition; no formal vote was required for the award presentation. The item was presented during the standing presentations portion of the agenda and noted as part of the district's broader extracurricular program development.
