Beecher board authorizes employment agreement for new police chief
Summary

After adjourning to executive session to discuss personnel, the Village of Beecher Board returned to public session and adopted Ordinance #1446, authorizing an employment agreement for the new police chief. Trustee Smith moved for approval, Trustee Stacey seconded, and the motion passed 6–0.
The adoption followed a period in executive session; the public minutes note that the employment agreement was authorized but do not record the agreement's salary, start date or other contract terms. The board also recognized outgoing or incumbent Chief Terry Lemming earlier in the meeting for initiatives including e‑ticketing, an automated evidence vault, grant work and planning for a new police facility. Implementation steps for the employment agreement were assigned to the Police Department for finalization and execution.
