Trustee Kraus moved to approve payment of the list of bills in the amount of $440,893.93; Trustee Stacey seconded and the motion passed unanimously. The board also approved a fireworks agreement that sets display prices at $41,010 for 2026, $41,820 for 2027 and $43,075 for 2028, and authorized payment of a $20,000 deposit for the July 4, 2026 show (deposit invoice due April 4, 2026).
On ordinances, the board adopted Ordinance #1444 amending the municipal grocery tax, and Ordinance #1445 adopting the 2025 tax levy (collectible 2026); Ordinance #1445 passed on a 5–1 vote with Trustee Smith recorded as the lone nay. Later in new business the board adopted Ordinance #1446 authorizing an employment agreement for the new chief of police.
Other formal actions included approval of a $13,813 proposal from Austgen Electric to install a solar‑powered school zone sign on Dixie Highway and authorization of a full‑time Public Works hire as discussed in executive session. Meeting minutes for Nov. 17, 24 and 25 were approved earlier in the session, with two isolated abstentions recorded on the Nov. 17 and Nov. 24 votes.
The meeting included departmental reports, commission updates and a public comment raising safety concerns about an open foundation at Orchard and Carolina. The board adjourned into executive session at 6:32 p.m. to discuss personnel, returned at 6:54 p.m., and completed final approvals before adjourning at 6:57 p.m.
