Bond County Board approves two federally funded bridge replacement resolutions

The board adopted Resolution 03-19-26-01 for Woburn Road and Snow Cemetery Avenue after a motion by Commissioner Jeff Rehkemper and second by Commissioner Wes Pourchot. Rehkemper's motion carried on a roll-call vote of 4 ayes and 0 nays. Rehkemper then moved Resolution 03-19-26-02 for the Hunter School Avenue replacement, seconded by Commissioner Jacob Rayl; that measure also passed 4-0.
Highway Engineer Mike McCormick told the board these projects will not require local matching funds. "This project would be 100% Federally Funded," McCormick said, noting federal grant support for both replacements.
The approvals clear the way for county staff to proceed with project planning and procurement steps consistent with federal requirements and the county's engineering timeline. The board did not set construction start dates in the meeting minutes; McCormick provided funding status and project scope but said grant award notifications for other projects remain pending.
The board's unanimous votes followed routine committee review and were recorded during the regular meeting in Greenville.
