The Henry County Transportation Committee on March 12 recommended that the Board award Curnyn Construction a $769,296.50 contract to replace or repair the Cambridge Bridge. County Engineer Scott Stephenson presented the tabulation of bids from the March 3, 2026 letting and recommended the project be awarded to the lowest bidder.
"D. Stiles moved to recommend the Board award Curnyn Construction the Cambridge Bridge project for $769,296.50. C. Strode seconded." The motion carried on a roll call vote of six "Aye" votes (Rex Kiser, Dave Dobbels, Ray Elliott, Dale Stiles, Crystal Strode and James Thompson). The committee recorded the funding split in the bid documents as 80% from the Township Bridge Program, 10% from Henry County, and 10% from Cambridge Township.
The contract recommendation will go to the full Henry County Board for final action. The committee listed its next meeting in April 2026; the board must take the formal award before the county can execute a contract and begin awarded work.
