Forensic child interview room completed; SUD numbers low in Wahkiakum County

Behavioral health staff reported that substance-use-disorder numbers are low locally and nationally, and that a completed Forensic Child interview room in Building 1 will be used by the Cowlitz County CJAC to interview child victims of violence.
Duncan Cruickshank reported that substance-use-disorder (SUD) numbers are currently low both nationally and in Wahkiakum County. He also said a Forensic Child interview room in Building 1 has been completed; the Cowlitz County CJAC will use the space to interview children who are victims of violence.
Cruickshank framed the completion of the interview room as an operational improvement to support trauma-informed interviews of child victims. No formal action or additional funding for the space was recorded in the advisory-board minutes on Feb. 19.
