The commission approved a zoning text amendment to establish a 25-foot maximum building height for single-family homes on Williamsburg Lane while maintaining existing 21-foot and 23-foot limits elsewhere. Staff said the amendment originated with the city council and aims to preserve and enhance the character of Williamsburg Lane while providing flexibility for unique lot conditions there.
“The ordinance would implement, those regulatory changes... to accommodate a new maximum 25 foot building height for single family residences located on Williamsburg Lane, while also maintaining the 21 foot height for residences on lots throughout the city elsewhere,” staff said. A commissioner moved to adopt resolution number 2026-09 and to support submittal of the proposed ordinance; the motion was seconded, roll call showed approval and the commission moved to forward the recommended ordinance.
