Kerman council delays decision on competing Measure C replacement ballot measures to May 13

The Kerman City Council considered two competing Measure C replacement initiatives during its April 8 meeting: a "Fix Our Roads" ballot measure and a "Better Roads, Safe Streets" alternative. Fresno County representative Mohammad Alimi and Georgiena M. Vivian presented on behalf of the Fix Our Roads campaign; Ashley Swearengin and Veronica Garibay represented Better Roads, Safe Streets.
After listening to the presentations, Mayor Pro Tem Yep moved—and Councilmember Hall seconded—to table the item to the May 13, 2026 meeting for further consideration. The motion passed 3–2 (Ayes: Yep, Hall, Dhaliwal; Noes: Herrera, Pacheco). Council did not adopt either resolution at this meeting and will revisit the item on May 13.
